How was your experience working with Alita Constructions?
So, we engaged with Alita Constructions early in the project, right from the design phase all the way through to construction. For us it was a really positive experience, a lot of value they could add through their experience in construction to really help us put our vision for what we wanted in a building into reality. And yes, that’s where we’re at, that’s the building we have today.
After your building experience, how would you describe Alita Constructions’ culture?
I think for us the best experience was right up front when we started talking costings. And the costings of the building that were presented were very accurate and were very realistic in terms of expectations. So, we set about on a path that allowed us to construct something without any surprises. So that openness, that honesty and that willingness to work together to achieve the result, I think, was the best experience. And that did shine through in Alita’s culture when they worked with us. They were just as passionate about this project as we were, and they were really willing to see it succeed and to help us in any way that they could. So, that was a really positive experience for us, definitely.
Did Alita Constructions exceed your expectations?
Yes, absolutely. As I’ve said earlier, the response, the expectations, everything was positive. That’s not to say that there aren’t any issues in a project – but even those issues were resolved in a way of working together. I think with the same vision in mind right from the beginning, the design phase of the project all the way through to after the building was inhabited, we still got the support to iron out all the wrinkles that you have in a building and here we are!
How has working with Alita Constructions helped Worthy Hands and how it operates?
Alita really helped us with the design of the building as well as the construction. So, in the design, that was really where we got an opportunity to put forward what we thought we needed in a building. It is disability support, so it has some unique requirements. It is not just a commercial factory unit; it has some spaces that we saw as specialist and certainly facilities for disabilities that were specialist. Alita researched that as part of their knowledge, but also with the people that they work with to provide those solutions for us. So, it was really good, and they were able to deliver that vision in reality. That was I think a really strong point for us, that we could see it coming to fruition and exactly what we had in mind. And we did that not with huge lavish facilities with an unlimited budget, but we were able to achieve that with the budget that we had, and with the constraints that you have in a project such as ours for a community building. But it still achieved way, way beyond our expectations in terms of finished result.
Did Alita Constructions have yours and the projects best interest at heart?
I’d say the people that make up Alita, every single person on the project that we worked with, right from the Managing Director of the company all the way through to the Receptionist, all had the best interests at heart. The Project Manager assigned, the Supervisor on site, the Contract Manager, every single person was working together as a team to deliver to us. So, I had a really positive experience as the organisations’ representative to the project. A very positive experience in engagement with all levels of the organisation, and on the same page and with the same vision that they wanted to see us achieve.
Why would you recommend Alita Constructions to someone else?
Yes absolutely, I would definitely recommend Alita. They have been a pleasure to work with, and I would say to other customers that they are honest, they work with integrity, and they deliver what they promised to deliver. And we have worked well, the project has been a very positive outcome for Alita and for us as an organisation from start to finish. Couldn’t recommend them highly enough.
