Alastair Kleyn [ Owner/Director ]

Qualified carpenter with over 20 years’ experience in the building industry. After leaving school and commencing his apprenticeship in carpentry and joinery. Alastair went on to study for his Diploma of Builders Registration. He undertook this study in the evening so that he could work on perfecting his trade during the day in the building of residential houses and commercial buildings. Upon completing his apprenticeship, he worked as a tradesman, gaining experience in many aspects of building. Soon after, he began trading as Ali’s Concrete Contractors and mainly focussed on commercial tilt panel buildings. In 2006, Ali’s Concrete Contractors was incorporated into Alita Constructions. Beginning his career on site has assisted Ali in recognising what it is that makes the construction process work smoothly and efficiently. He still regularly visits site and has implemented processes and checklists to ensure that work is consistently completed to a high standard.

Matt Kleyn [ Construction Manager / Project Manager ]

Matt has worked in the building industry for over twelve years, and has spent time both on-site and in the office. Matt manages the entire duration of our projects, ensuring that they are built on time, within budget and in accordance with the plans.

Mark Bruning [ Building Consultant ]

Mark’s extensive experience as a Contracts Administrator in the building and construction industry as well as his keen interest in all aspects of commercial and industrial projects has provided a natural progression into Building Consultancy.
This wealth of knowledge assists Mark as he meets with potential clients to discuss new project requirements. Mark liaises with our clients beginning with the initial enquiry and project development through to signing of the contract.

Natalie Terpstra [ Financial Manager ]

Natalie manages and reviews the financial reports, prepares the activity reports and financial forecasts, as well as managing all accounts, receivable and payable. Natalie has been employed in the building industry for 7 years.

Sarah Dutschke [ Office Manager / Human Resources Manager / Marketing Manager ]

Sarah is the Office Manager at Alita Constructions and oversees all Office Administration tasks. With a Diploma in Marketing, Diploma in Human Resources Management, Cert IV in Public Relations and a Cert II in Business, Sarah also manages the Marketing of Alita Constructions as well as Human Resources. Sarah has been employed in the building industry for four years.

Stephanie De Jonge [ Office Administrator ]

Stephanie has over seven years’ experience in the building industry and has obtained her Diploma of Project Management. Stephanie manages all the administration and secretarial work as well as assisting with accounts and contracts administration.

Hank van Duyn [ Senior Estimator ]

Hank has over 25 years’ experience in the building industry. Of these, Hank has spent approximately nine years supervising projects and more than six years in the estimating department. This experience assists him in producing accurate cost estimates as well as achievable construction schedules.

Ian French [ Project Manager ]

Ian holds a Bachelors Honors degree and has over nineteen years experience in the building industry. He has worked from the client side as well as for commercial building organisations. Ian has provided Quantity Surveying, Project, Cost and Design Management expertise within the Commercial, Retail, Health and Education sectors for Tier 1 and 2 organisations in the UK, New Zealand and Australia.

Bernard van Ryssen [ Project Manager ]

Bernard has worked in the building industry for over twelve years, and has spent time both on-site and in the office. He’s got a Bachelors degree in Quantity Surveying and worked in various fields including high rise, civil, commercial and industrial in South Africa, England and Australia in tier 1 to 3 building companies. Bernard manages our projects from contract award to handover to ensure they are both complete on time and within budget.

John Swarts

John Swarts [ Contract Administrator ]

Having worked in the construction industry as a carpenter for 6 years, John has a practical knowledge of the building industry. He has also begun studies towards a bachelor’s degree in Construction Management. John’s role as a contracts administrator allows him to work closely with the Project Manager to assist with the management of our projects. John’s work focuses on the procurement of the trades and resources required for the project.

Johnny Mc Cann

Johnny Mc Cann [ Contract Administrator ]

Johnny has worked in the construction industry for over 15 years throughout Ireland, the UK, and Australia. A qualified Quantity Surveyor, Johnny has experience as a Contracts Administrator and Project Manager both onsite and in office in a range of both commercial and domestic areas. This experience extends to pre-contracts, construction stage and post contract. Johnny’s experience with design and construct and estimating allows him to assist in numerous departments in Alita.

Maurice Bruning [ Safety Officer ]

Prior to joining the team at Alita Constructions, Maurice had a career in the lift industry spanning thirty six years. During the last sixteen of those thirty six years, Maurice gained experience in the roles of sales manager/project manager, is a licensed electrician and quality assurance auditor. Maurice ensures that Alita’s HSE policies and procedures as well as job safety analysis documents (JSA’s) are kept to industry standard.

Edwin Bruning [ Site Supervisor ]

Ed, a carpenter by trade and a registered builder, has worked in the building industry for over nineteen years. Ed is responsible for coordinating site activities from earthworks through to handover, all the while ensuring the projects are completed on time and within budget. His knowledge of HSE legislation, the Building Code of Australia and relevant Australian Standards plays a vital role in the successful delivery of over twenty projects in the last five and a half  years.

Andy Jordan

Andy Jordan [ Site Supervisor ]

Andy has almost 50 years in the construction industry having served a carpentry joinery apprenticeship with the NZ Army. Upon leaving the Army in 1986 he went into labour only contracting, building cottages and houses and holiday units a NZ housing company. He then took on a Site Foreman role building the then biggest dairy factory in the southern hemisphere. On coming to Australia Andy has worked his way up to become a Site Manager with some large Companies such as Hansen Yuncken, Australand and Multiplex in Sydney. On moving to WA Andy has built the Geraldton Trade Training Center, The new Esperance Primary School and the John XXIII college music and drama center.

John Freeman

John Freeman [ Site Supervisor ]

John is a qualified Carpenter/Joiner with over 30 years experience in the building industry. He has an extensive background in supervising commercial building projects, and knowledge of HSE policy. Johns’ eye for detail ensures that all projects are delivered to the highest standard and quality, whilst establishing strong work ethics; maximising productivity and meeting deadlines in a safe and effective manner.

Office Administrator / Marketing Assistant

Office Administrator / Marketing Assistant Posted on 16/11/18

Alita Constructions is looking for a suitable candidate to complete a Traineeship in Business in the position of Office Administrator / Marketing Assistant.

You will gain on the job training and a nationally accredited qualification of a Certificate in Business with the added skill set of assisting in marketing.

The position will include (but is not limited to); completing a Business Certificate in Business,  data entry, document creation, filing, answering incoming calls, assisting marketing, assisting the accounts department and personal items for the Director. This traineeship is full-time hours – Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 5pm.

To be successful in your trainee ship you will need:

  • Strong communication skills
  • Reliable transport to and from work is essential as there is insufficient public transport in the area.
  • Problem solving skills and the ability to offer support to team members and clients.
  • Confidence in your writing and reporting skills.
  • Experience with the MS Office Suite including Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Experience and interest in social media, website development and graphic design (preferably an Adobe Creative Suite superstar)
