Rossiter Pavilion & Playing Field

(Formerly known as Piara Waters (South) Pavilion & Playing Field)

Rossiter Pavilion and Playing Field for the City of Armadale, is located in the Holland Park Private Estate in Piara Waters. The 38,000m2 community centre site consists of a large pavilion and four changerooms and is fully landscaped.  A BBQ and seating area together with a nature based playground and full size playing field is open and available to the local community.

This was an exciting opportunity for Alita to partner with the City of Armadale and provide the community with a facility for sporting clubs and community groups to gather.

Works paving the way for new Piara Waters South Pavilion

City of Armadale Mayor Henry Zelones OAM JP said the shared use arrangement between the City and the WA State Government would emulate the recently completed Harrisdale Pavilion and Playing Field.

“The partnership between the City and State Government provides an ideal solution to easing pressure on local sports fields and facilities,” he said.

“It’s a great outcome for residents as it will form part of an important education and community precinct to service the fast growing community.”

Construction Update:

The BubbleDeck suspended slab is currently being installed at the PYMS project for the City of Mandurah and GP Down South.
BubbleDeck is a precast concrete floor system which makes floor slabs lighter and stronger by incorporating large, hollow plastic balls in a lattice of steel. With 1kg of recycled plastic replacing 100kg of concrete, it is a low cost and sustainable solution!

The civil stormwater has been completed using Eco Aid storm tanks (pic below) to provide storage capacity and the hydraulic in-grounds and pre-lays are nearing completion.

Going forward; there will be bulk import of fill to bring the site up to design level and then the detailed excavation of the lift pit and footings will commence.

The project is being built on the town’s old tip which was closed in the early 60’s. The challenge for Alita has been ensuring the design accounts for any future potential movement. Alita have achieved this by providing alternative engineered solutions for the building’s substructure.

Testimonial

The Free Reformed School Association has a long-standing relationship with Alita Constructions. The site development including all services as well as the construction of 7 classrooms (some double storey), one workshop, a library, a staff and reception area and student / staff amenities started in January 2017 and was completed in October of that year. The end project is stunning and student, parents and staff are extremely happy with their new school. We also really appreciated the flexibility we had with Alita in relation to particular voluntary work provided by parents and the wider community. We would recommend Alita Constructions for your next project. Read more here

Carey Baptist College

carey-baptist-college

The Carey Baptist Community Centre Stage 10 project was a double storey complete fit-out building which joined onto an existing Sports Centre at the Carey Baptist College in Harrisdale. It was finished on the 10th March 2015 and the internal fit-out included a childcare centre, cafe, uniform shop, kitchens and offices. The architect, T&Z Architects was the superintendent for the job so Alita worked in closely with them.

The job site was run on a fully functional school ground meaning the logistics of school children, cranes, truck deliveries and parent drop-offs/pickups all had to be managed thoroughly to ensure the safety of all persons at all times. There was a great amount of liaising with the school and flexibility by Alita to ensure the school could function as normal as much as possible during the construction period. Alita managed a 100% safety record with no injuries or potential dangers reported by any children, parents or teachers. All workers also had to have a police clearance or sign a confidential declaration to ensure the safety of all children at all times.

Overall this Carey Baptist Community Centre was a great success and a good achievement by all involved. Alita managed to complete the project two and a half weeks early, much to the delight of the school.

This Project was completed in approximately 12 months.

This Project was completed in approximately 24 weeks.
